I am continuing to enjoy the journey of learning my L1 language usage skills. There is so much that I have forgotten over the years, and really felt poorly about knowing English grammar. This has motivated me to continue to learn the points of English, and the structure of grammar. There is so much taken for granted in the L1 user that when teaching an L2 language, you become enthusiastic about the finer details of the structure and compositions of sentences and the spoken language.This was the most fun chapter so far! I cannot remember if we studied the International Phonemic Alphabet when I took linguistics in college, but since I don't remember a thing about it, it doesn't matter one way or the other! It was a fresh start. This unit brought out some of the the differences between British and American English. For example, when I say \"teacher.\" I pronounce the \"er\" at the end. All in all...it was good fun! (...and I still have to practice the IPA a LOT!)
