This lesson stressed the importance of writing lesson plans and concretized previous units that presented the structure of such plans (e.g. Straight Arrow, Patchwork). The most helpful part of this unit were the examples provided of both lesson plans and task materials that one would use for an actual class. Rather than spontaneously \"winging it\", having a basic framework to refer to will be essential for me, especially as a new teacher.This unit discussed how to teach writing and speaking. It discussed the importance of motivating students and the value of games in the classroom. I appreciated this unit because I can use these ideas when making my own lesson plans. Many of my classes involve mostly writing and speaking, so it is very useful. I want to create better Study activities so that the Engage segments of my lessons are more fruitful and beneficial to my students.
