This unit is about evaluation and tests used in ESL teaching. There are three ways to assess a student's level: tutorials, evaluation by students and tests. Among them, tests cover an important part, consisting of placement, progress, diagnostic and practice tests. General external examinations including TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC are internationally recognized. However, tests are tests, they cannot replace learning, so do not learn for tests.This was a good lesson because equipment and teaching aids can contribute an effective learning process. Although technology helps, having a back up plan is extremely important in case any of the gadgets fails. The lesson plan could include the use of these resources so the activities and timing are designed accordingly. Nowadays there some apps that can promote interaction and follow up activities after class or to work specific projects.
