The videos provided for lesson 10 allowed the viewer to see an effective and ineffective lesson between students and teacher. In the first lesson, it easy to see that the teacher was uninterested in teaching, as well as condescending towards the students. In response, the students are uncomfortable with participating and unsure of their knowledge. By the teacher saying that the lesson topic was easy, he successfully lowered the students' self-esteem. In contrast, the teacher began the second lesson by introducing himself and learning the students' names. He effectively built a relationship with the students, allowing for them to have the confidence to get involved with the lesson. The overall disposition of the teacher changed as well, with him presenting a smile and laughing along with the students. The teacher allowed for pair working and assisted the students with the activities. We see that because he thoroughly enjoyed teaching the lesson, the students enjoyed learning and participating. It is important to be present and interested in order to teach and get students interested in learning the given subject.
