In relation to this unit, I?d have to admit that I have picked up some new ideas towards my approach to becoming a teacher. The selection of words or grammar rules to teach did seem rather daunting, but as the unit suggests, most of the materials will be arranged by the school and I?d need only to worry about the supplementary vocabularies or grammar rules if any supplementary words or patterns were needed that is.
Numerous teachers for whatever reason, especially newcomers or those who are inexperienced and without proper training always seem to opt for a hope for the best scenario in regards to teaching from what I have read online but I strongly believe that hope isn?t a suitable tactic.
So I am happy to see this organised and structured approach to teaching, especially the ?boomerang? effect EASA. I believe these techniques also aid in the class time management.
There was a paragraph of particular interest to me in this unit, which stated that many students receptive vocabularies are greater than the words they know. I agree strongly to this since it appears to be a similar situation with myself in regards to my second language acquisition (Chinese).
