Teach English in Newark on Trent - TESOL Courses
I can't say I agree with the use of course books for new students specially in teaching a new language. As a young student and to some extent as a older college student, I often viewed the course book as non relevant to the course that the teacher or instructor was trying to explained in class. In other words, what the teacher was explaining or lecturing did not covered the outlined of the course book. Often students had to seek other reading materials to get a general idea what the teacher was talking about or in some cases, they raised their hands to ask questions. In some cases, students would talk among each other to gather information of the lesson which often helped. To this extend, I do agree in part of using course books when and if there are examples available for the student to use or review. I am not saying that this is the way best to teach or that it is the best way to cheat. Not at all. However, I think it is important for students to view the materials that is clear that they can use or practise among each other or at home. Having said all of this, I think I am prepare to bring the course book to class and begin teaching and make it as interest as possible.
