Fist of all, this unit was an excellent opportunity to learn what criteria teachers have to follow to choose proper vocabulary to teach in the class. To select necessary vocabulary there are features, which have to be in teachers' minds. They have to remember the new vocabulary has to be appropriate and suitable for the students and given tasks. Moreover, frequency and coverage is essential to tech new lexis.The last but not least teachability has a vast influence on every level language proficiency. It's especially important for the beginners who need very clear and visual language.
When it comes to learning new vocabulary student need to know meaning, word grammar, spelling, interaction, use, and pronunciation.
According to the ESA which includes at least three steps which are Engage, Study and Activate, teachers can use various techniques to teach vocabulary for instance mine and reaction; gap-fill exercises or/and storybuiding. Those three are used in different stages of the lesson.
Secondly, unit focuses on introducing grammar structures which are equally important as lexis.
Teachers are supposed to present meaning, spoken and written forms of certain structures, their patterns and use.
