This unit is about the lesson planning for the teachers. The writing of lesson plans is important as it helps in entire planning process, it creates what the class has covered and it acts as a document to refer during the lesson. A lesson plan should be simple, should have the same structure as lesson, should be flexible according to the needs of class, should be a good mix of skills and should not be scripted with entire lesson. Being organised helps the teacher with effective teaching. Teachers should make sure the seating is arranged as desired and the board is clean before the starting of class. This can be achieved only if the teacher arrives 5 minutes early before the starting of class and is ready to chat with the students when they enter the class. A lesson plan should include the learner's objective, personal aims, language point, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, class level, number of students, day/time and also teacher's and observer's name. Apart from the lesson plan format given in this unit, the teacher can use the self evaluation format too. The procedure of the lesson will include the ESA style lesson plan which can be straight arrow, boomerang or patching work style according to the need and aim of the lesson.
