This section was surprisingly difficult for me. Being a native English speaker I know the correct tenses and forms to use, but before I could't have given an exact rule for it. I found the usage sections on each Tense very helpful in this unit. It refreshed my memory from when I learned it in school and gave me clear rules for usage. Living in a foreign Country I find the future tenses to be the most commonly misunderstood and misused. It is important to note in the Future Simple Tense, the section about the difference between will and shall, and the appropriate times to use both. In my opinion, when teaching the Future Continuous, Future Perfect and Future Perfect Continuous it is important to check the understanding of the class in regards to contractions. For example I will contracted is I'll. It can be confusing when explaining the rules for the tenses with using the formula will+have+been+verb+ing and using the sentence example I'll have been working for 4 years. If students forget the contraction it may look like the sentence does not have the will piece of the formula. This unit has refreshed my memory and given me the ability to assist my friends with their English by giving usage for each tense, examples, and opportunities to practice the tenses.
