In unit nine,lesson planning as i have learned is a very vital section in teaching.I have learned that planning a lesson helps the teacher to communicate ideas to students in an orderly manner .However,some writers holds that lesson planning is not a good idea but i think it is good because it helps the teacher to teach in an orderly manner and to be able to time his or herself.Also,after going through this unit i discovered there are many functions of a lesson plan for example ,being organised .Also .lesson plan helps the teacher to be organised for example check the equipment works .Also i have learned that lesson plan helps the teacher to work on time because by following the plan the teacher will not go above the required time.
On the other hand,i have learned that a teacher will sometimes need to make changes on his lesson plan while teaching because flexibility is very important .A teacher needs to be flexible and not just limit himself on the plan.More so in this unit i have come across an important function of the lesson plan which is phase and this explains the ESA method as i saw previously in unit three.This method as i have learned is a method of teaching that is the Engage Study Activate method which as a teacher will include in his lesson plan.
