This unit was informative and concise. It gave clear guidelines and examples. I can see how there would be confusion on the third and mixed conditionals as the explanations are very similar, with the only difference being the third conditional ends with a hypothetical past consequence and the mixed conditional ends with a hypothetical present consequence. I liked the idea of splitting the sentences and having the students match the correct endings. In my opinion this would be a great study activity, as well as the chain conditional sentences. The second part of this unit seems to be a bit problematic. The concept is easy enough but the tenses would be tested, as well as vocabulary. There is a lot the students needs to keep in mind when engaging in activities for recorded speech. A good activity could be to matching the phrase told to the phrase reported. This would also be a great time for some listening exercises, where students can record what they heard, whether through a role play or audio cd, and report that information to the class.
Being a native english speaker I find the grammar concepts easy, but until now could not tell you the name for each tense or conditionals. This unit was very helpful in defining the correct terms and usage of the different conditionals.
