Unit five talks about classroom management and the methods of how to achieve a good working condition for the students and teachers, and the factors that contribute to the achievement of this condition. It emphasizes that a teacher must be flexible and must be equipped with the knowledge of how to change stances or approaches depending on the situation and/or activity at hand, the teacher must be friendly but must also be a person who is respected in the classroom, a teacher must show that he or she is a respectable person by being fair to all the students, not having favorites, being punctual, and understanding. When it comes to getting hold of the attention of the class one can use eye contact, gesture, and the way they speak to alter the mood at hand and to signal to the student what's going on in the class. The unit also talks about different ways of grouping students and the benefits and the problems with each way, of course all of the ways are useful in their own right but most not be overused, all methods should be interchanged accordingly and in accordance to the task at hand. The same goes for classroom arrangements, it would depend on factors such as amount of student, space available, age, nationality, and even the student's personality. During class activities a teacher must learn to position herself accordingly, in a way that will help the students absorb their education better, this might be done by standing up, sitting down, being distant, or being very vocal and present.
