Teach English in North Walsham - TESOL Courses
To be totally honest, teaching english is not something I ever wanted to do before. Having worked in various parts of the world doing construction, medical care, and community improvement projects, I always knew that teaching english was a huge opportunity to be overseas but not an opportunity I was interested in. Then, a job offer in China made me think twice. I had some apprehension about my ability to teach english. I questioned whether I could remember or relearn all that I imagined I would need to know to accept the teaching position. To my delight, I thoroughly enjoyed the ITTT learning experience. There are many things I could say I gained from this course but the one that comes to mind first is a sense of accomplishment. Not having a degree has at times been a hindrance to my work overseas. Although, I never wanted to put the time and money into schooling I was not sure I would ever use. This course has given me a specific direction to pursue and that feels great. I have great hopes for the doors that this ITTT certificate is going to open for me.
Another thing I've gained from this course is a love of learning. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed what I've been learning over the past few months. (Even those difficult grammar units!) And I can't wait to get to China to begin encouraging my students through the same learning experience.
My husband and I are right now in the process of collecting all the required paperwork to apply for our visas to China. We've been accepted to teach (contingent upon completion of this course) young learners in a conversational english school in the far north of China. I admit, while I am excited to get things completed and be on our way, I am also a little anxious about putting so much new information into practice in a classroom. I know that what I've learned in this course is going to be a fantastic foundation for this adventure we hope to begin in a few short months.
