This unit starts with the definition of intonation and demonstrates the different types of intonation used in different situations. Then it shows and explains the stress on the syllables, showing a table with the stress in different syllables with examples. The unit shows different tables with phonemic symbols for consonants (voiced and unvoiced) and diphthongs. Shows the articulations, and its positions of pronunciation. And last, but not least demonstrates an example of a phonetic script.Although this chapter was short, it was very dense and full of important information regarding how to introduce new language concepts to a learner. The most important thing I took away from the unit was what the student must know about new grammatical structures and vocabulary words. Knowing this will allow myself to focus on what is important for the student to learn in order to understand the language better and leave out parts that are extraneous and not as relevant for them to focus on.
