I am interested in the different forms are verb usage. When learning Spanish, you learn a lot about verb conjugation but I was never really exposed to charts and information that was kind of the same thing but different. It is interesting to see our language broken down in ways that we see when learning other languages. I didn't really ever think about English as a language in which you needed to do that to learn it - this is probably because it is my native language. Interesting, isn't it?I feel that more emphasis needs to be put on the culture we are teaching in. In many cultures no eye contact is a sign of respect while in others it is used more casually. I found it helpful to discuss the different ways classroom could be set up and pointing out the horseshoe set-up which will help create a more intimate atmosphere. It is a good reminder to teachers that losing ones temper in a situation does not help the situation and only allow students to lose respect for their teacher.
