This Unit covered lesson plans. Some of the important ideas in this unit were why teachers should write lesson plans and what should be included in them. Of particular importance to planning, is flexibility. Without flexible lesson plans a new teacher may have issues when things inevitably don't go exactly as planned. It's also important to reflect on past lessons and continuously set goals for yourself as to improve your teaching abilities as well as the learning opportunities for studentsIn this unit we saw how to incorporate productive language skills, and games into our lessons. We saw examples of lessons, what to look out for, and what problems to avoid. Given the non phonetic nature of English writing can become a big challenge. We should however still include this into our lessons as it is an important skill to learn. And with games and other methods, we have a good arsenal of means to accomplish our goal of including both productive language skills in our lesson plan.
