This Unit describes in detail the qualities necessary for teachers to teach effectively and students to learn. Also described are the differences between young people and adult learners and how the culture the students have been raised in may affect their ability to work in an open, creative environment. Student's willingness to take risks (not freeze up because of nervousness) is discussed and I think this is very important as nervousness probably will greatly slow the learning process. Not mentioned, but important, is each student's effort to find native speakers to practice with outside of class (when possible).
