The task of the instructor of practical skills is very similar to the task of the coach. Learning foreign language may resemble sport competition. The coach in the sport plays a significant role in the success or failure of the athlete. Good and dedicated “language coach†or teacher should beware of committing several basic errors which may discourage his learners from study.1) Destructive criticism in teaching has useful purpose. Aware and mature person can ignore it but unfortunately most people aren’t learned this self-awareness that allows them complete have freedom emotional. Especially children, who absorb everything - hear anything from the so-called authorities.2) Giving too difficult tests discourages students. Taking it too easy doesn’t bring good results either. Therefore the teacher has to remember to find a balance - adjusting levels, ways and methods to people and not vice versa.3) Evaluation and grades are often used for wrong purpose. Assignments evaluation are to find, understand mistakes and improve language skills. Grades system cannot be used to punish or reward learners.A good teacher must teach their students how to learn. This means encouraging them to take the role of the teacher. It also means a giving tools that can be used by students, rather than leading them all the time.
