This was a very difficult section for me because I have always had an incredibly hard time with this material. It was hard to get through this but I did learn a lot. It is important to teach our students how to pronounce words properly. The hardest thing for me to teach my students, however, is intonation. Because japanese is such a flat language in general, it is hard to get them to learn the natural rise and fall that comes with English. It was helpful for me to learn some more concrete examples and reasons, and the techniques for teaching like gestures and nonsense words I had not thought of Before. I will try these out with my students and see how it goes!
