This unit focuses on teaching special groups, especially the various Types of beginners. Since beginners can come from various age groups and interest levels, it is best to approach each with certain teaching tactics in mind. One aspect I found particularly helpful was the one-to-one teaching style. Unlike teaching a full class, teachers have to be very sensitive to their single student by not over correcting, prompting the student effectively, and explaining teaching methods, and providing enough supporting materials. This group is often looking for a specific type of English vocabulary and instruction, so it is best for the teacher to find out explicitly what they need to know and how they intend to use English in the future.
