There was much more to absorb in this lesson and opens up more doors to researching the pronunciation than it may have stressed in the beginning (pun intended). Out of nowhere, the phonetic alphabet and science of oral articulation was introduced, but understanding the concepts under a certain amount of time wasn't such a challenge. Everything about the English language should now become vast to the trainee teacher as a new and more dynamic perspective towards the subject should be breached.I learned that textbook selection can be a tricky subject. There are many factors to consider what is best for the students and the classroom. In my opinion, it is better to use your own materials but based on the curriculum of a coursebook you like. This will give you the structure for the year, but all the materials will be relevant and catered personally to the students. This of course requires much time and effort but is the most effective way of using time in the classroom for teaching.
