Unit 9, Lesson Planning, discusses the importance of creating a lesson plan. Creating a lesson plan essentially provides a framework for the teacher and assures that there is a working document to achieve the set objective. A lesson plan is not rigid and does not need to be followed directly. However, there are essential parts to include in a lesson plan. After completing a lesson, it is helpful for a teacher to complete an evaluation of the lesson for future lessons and areas for improvement.I enjoyed learning about new ways for students to use their creative writing skills by creating cartoons, producing stories or filling in the blanks. I think it is important to engage students and assign writing that meets their goals and interests. I find it important to help students with correct spelling by having them read a significant amount of material. I also learned that it is crucial to provide feedback at the end of each lesson so that you can receive feedback from students as well.
