Conditionals and reported speech and be quite difficult and challenging concepts. I have recently learned about conditionals in South African Sign Language but it did not have as many forms as what English does. I must admit it is quite complex to grasp everything and therefore it is important you get it right in order to teach your learners right. Reported speech on the other hand is not as complex as conditionals but can still be challenging when you need to think about how the tenses change.This unit covered some important methods and ideas for teaching a new language. It covered choosing and teaching vocabulary words--words that students need to learn, grammatical structures--the way words and phrases are formed and used in sentences, and language functions--the way that sentences and phrases are spoken in conversational English. These things are sure to be very different from the way that students are used to speaking, so it is important that the English teacher teach them well.
