This unit covered the types of exams to be used in a classroom as well as various types of external exams that may be taken after the course is over. It is important for a teacher to think about why they want to use tests and what should be gained from them. I learned about the various types of course tests and when to use each one. It was also useful to learn about external tests. An ESL teacher could be preparing all students for one test, or students might be preparing to take different tests, so the content and purpose of these tests is useful to keep in mind.
