This unit combined with the previous unit looked at productive and receptive skills. In this unit we focused on productive skills, those being speaking and writing. These skills are the more difficult for many new English learners. Therefore, this unit showed good examples of how to handle a productive skills lesson and the kinds of activities and games associated with productive skills that help the students practice and retain those skills.This unit has been very helpful in understanding that each lesson should have different aspects involved and at different points in the lesson. I like the idea of having an engage period where the students can become interested in the subject material that is being taught. I learned a lot from the different examples that were given for the different stages of the lesson. I will definitely be using this unit a lot in my teaching in the future.
