Methods and techniques are very interesting to learn. It reminded me of ESL class I took when I came to America years ago. Now I see why some of the methods were used in the classroom by ESL teacher. I was very shy and nervous going to the class. I'm trying to think how I can make students to feel comfortable in my class. This lesson is very interesting and also need for me to think it over and over in order to practice in the classroom.I learned about teaching new language. A teacher can easily use ESA methods to introduce new language.
Lessons which focus on grammar or vocabulary more use the 'straight arrow' EAS approach, but fuctions-based lessons, such as inviting, suggesting, refusing, etc., are more approached with 'boomerang' or 'patchwork' ESA structures.
A teacher has to think about which method is most proper to the class and to the language that will be taught.
