Unit 11 explains receptive skills, which are reading and listening abilities. Their components such as vocabulary, prior knowledge, suitability of the material to the learner, etc., and these elements? roles in a student?s overall ability to understand when listening or reading are elucidated. Reading materials and comprehension activities are given to give teachers ideas on how to approach their lesson planning regarding receptive skills.This Unit covers the aspects of teaching for special groups like beginners, or employees of a certain company, or even young learners (which seems to be really exciting). The 'DO's and 'DON'T's presented are very important to bear in mind before and during the lessons of the cited groups. It is good to reflect on the challenges that could arise on a one-to-one teaching dynamic, as it should be one of my first job search area when teaching ESL.
