This unit is about how to structure your lesson plan in order to effectively teach students, whether you are teaching vocabulary, grammar, or language functions. It was helpful to understand some of the criteria to consider as you choose which vocabulary words to teach, as well as how to engage students in learning vocabulary. It was helpful to see the different ways that a lesson plan could be created depending on the material being taught.Unit 9 explored the purpose and benefits of creating lesson plans, paying special attention to the importance of flexibility within lesson plans to allow for the needs of students as they are presented. An example lesson plan and example worksheets were provided in Unit 9, allowing us to further understand how to develop a lesson plan that uses ESA strategies and worksheets that are appropriate to the subject matter and level of the students.
