This unit covers the most important phonetic basics – the phonemic chart which has symbols for vowels and consonants as well as the stress and intonation (rise/fall, flat…) patterns, and how we use them in our speech. It explains the places and manners of articulation in a very simple and easy to remember way. Again, it demonstrates various teaching techniques for pronouncing individual sounds and how and why students should learn the phonemic alphabet.
