This unit went over different examinations students of english may take/want to take in order to submit these scores to either a university, business/job, or for other motivation. While being a teacher at a language school, it is our duty to prepare students for these examinations. The first step is a placement test which will be a part written, part verbal test to determine the correct class for a students level of English proficiency. From here, progress tests should be used in the classroom periodically to encourage the students to review and test what has been remembered by the students and what needs more reinforcement. Diagnostic tests can also be given at the beginning of a class to see what students know. This can help the teacher plan lessons and material around the students' needs. Practice tests should also be given in the same format that the external tests will be in. This will prepare the students for their external examinations outside of the language school curriculum.
