In this unit we look at books and materials we use in the classroom. As the course books used can vary enormously, we should choose carefully. We learn about course books advantages and disadvantages and how to make the best of using them. If we are fortunate enough to be able to choose the course book for the class, this unit provides us with a list of factors we need to analyze and consider. Looking at other source of materials, we learn about authentic materials which are about anything a native speaker would hear or read: programs, magazines, etc. Created materials are usually designed by the teacher to replace or supplement materials from a course book.
