Unit 17 points out several teaching aids that teachers can prepare prior to a lessons. Each teaching aid has advantages and disadvantages, so teachers must evaluate which teaching aids are appropriate for a particular lesson plan. Before conducting a lesson, teachers must prepare the resources thoroughly and test any audio recordings in advance. The unit provides suggestions on books and online resources that teachers can use within the classroom.This unit talked about what new language to teach and how. It demonstrated sample lesson plans using the ESA model as well as how to mix it up and use boomerang and patchwork lesson models as well. It discussed the importance of teaching grammatical structures as well as vocabulary and used the tree as an interesting analogy. It also talked about how to select what vocabulary to teach and what criteria we should use to select which words to teach.
