Some techniques included new vocabulary is suitable for the Engage phase, techniques for encouraging new language structures is suitable for the Engage phase, activities NOT suitable for the Study phase, activities for teaching new language structures is suitable for the Study phase, activities for teaching new language structures is suitable for the Activate phase.I enjoyed seeing some examples of the classroom setting. However I must say that the videos belabor the point for far too long. The intended message could have been reached much more swiftly and efficiently. I understand class participation involving naming animals, but it went on and on. In my classroom I would keep engagement high by shortening this process, so long as I feel comfortable that the students are also comfortable with moving on.
