This unit covered the present tense of the English language in its different forms (simple. perfect, continuous etc.) It serves as a good reminder of how to explain each form of the present tense to students. In addition, the lesson provided incredibly useful examples of how students generally struggle with the present tense. For example, students often make the mistake of using the present simple tense when they are supposed to use the present perfect tense (e.g. I am a secretary for five years).This unit covers the various types of tests one can expect throughout the course of a year. Similarly, the unit covers various types available for instructors and how they can be used to measure a student's ability or progress. Diagnostic tests and placement tests can be used to determine where a student stands at the beginning of the year and what their needs may be.Likewise, practice tests and progress test can show how the student has improved and whether or not they have retained information.
