Practice with the International Phonetic Alphabet is really nostalgic of my college days. While the benefit of learning IPA is very rewarding to students, it is something that undoubtedly takes a lot of time, which is often something that isn't available in TEFL classes, at least in my experience. IPA aside, this chapter's breakdown of linguistics is very useful for teachers when approaching the instruction of pronunciation themselves, particularly for native speakers who pronounce things naturally.The final lesson has arrived! Before signing up for this program, I didn't have much idea of how to teach English to non-English speakers. But now, I have an idea. This course provided me great ideas in class-room activities. I think the unit 19 and unit 20 were the important unit for me. These units were like a flu shot. It gave me an opportunity to think about how to run my very first class. I can't wait for CTEYL course. I truly hope I get an A in this course. Thank you so much for all your help!
