This unit was very helpful because it helped me understand how to create a good environment for English language learners. The materials prepared me to organize a class and pair an activity that would complement the seating arrangement. I enjoyed learning about the strategies for disciplinary actions. Working with students from a different culture than mine presents its own challenges, so having tools for discipline makes me feel comfortable with managing behaviors that I may not understand initially.This unit was about teaching special groups. I found the title a bit misleading as to me special groups would include students with disabilities. The groups covered were beginners, individuals, children, business English and monolingual/multilingual classes. I feel it would have been more helpful if examples of which types of lessons would be good for each special group (patchwork, straight arrow...). The example of a needs analysis paper was helpful and I will probably refer back to it in the future.
