Unit eighteen covers the more technical grammar points of modals, passive voice and phrasal verbs. The chart detailing the uses of modals was very helpful. As a native speaker I often forget the reasons that certain language is \"more formal\" and its a question that teacher have often asked me. The chart gives clear definitions of which type of modal is used and why, which is a great and easy reference. I found phrasal verbs the most difficult to grasp, and more examples would have been very helpful.I learned a lot of useful information in this unit that I know I will refer back to in the future. From using eye contact and gestures to establishing rapport in the classroom, I found everything in this unit interesting. Some of the topics that I found to be very helpful were tips on preventing and responding to problem behavior, giving individual attention, doing boardwork, giving instructions, and minimizing teacher talk time. Learning the pros and cons of each student grouping was also helpful.
