This lesson was an expansion of the tense lessons I had had previously concerning the past tense. This was divided into past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. The past simple is for completed actions in the past. The past continuous is for interrupted actions that took place in the past. The past perfect is for a past action that preceded another past action. The past perfect continuous is then an interrupted past action that was interrupted by a succeeding past action.There are two receptive skills: reading and listening. They are both equally important and must be tailored to students' level. Indeed, if the lesson is too easy students would feel they aren?t learning anything and will be bored. On the other hand, if the material is too hard, most students would feel confused and would not be interested. As a result, they would lose interest very quickly. That?s why a good teacher has to carefully planned his lesson based on his/her students' levels and interests.
