From this unit I learned that when selecting vocabulary to teach, we need to consider the appropriateness to the students and to the lessons to be discussed, frequency and coverage and teachability. When teaching students new vocabulary it is always important to give clarifications such as providing what the word means, how and when it is appropriate to use the word, and how it is written and pronounced. Lastly, when teaching language functions to students, an ESA approach is necessary in a boomerang form.Unit 3 teaches about the methods, theories and technics in teaching English as a second languange. It's teaches all the methods used in order to get an up and active class. It's also teaches on how to plan lessons to get a good outcome. Which ranges form the Engage, study and active stage know as the straight arrow method. In this unit i have learnt alot. Infact when i started this course it was a little boring. But this unit has given me more and more courage to enjoy every bit of material it has to offer.
