There are four things that students need to do with new language; be exposed to it, understand its meaning, how it's constructed, practice and produce it. Unit four is about vocabulary, grammar, and functions. The different techniques in teaching, selecting and presenting vocabulary and grammar are shown.
Several different ESA structures are also given along with examples of activities within the structures. Teaching language functions and techniques for presenting and practicing language structures are also shown.This unit provided concise information on classroom behavior from both teachers and students. It discussed methods of arranging students in class to optimize the learning experience. I teach all my classes online, and therefore can only apply a small portion of this lesson in my own classroom, but none the less it has given me proper insight into the dynamics of class relations. I will be using some of the things I learned here to help my students interact more with one another thereby increasing student talk time.
