Teach English in Airth - TESOL Courses
This unit discusses the difference between the four present tenses namely present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect simple. Present simple is used for something that happens habitually and fact while present continous is used for something that is happening now and in limited time. Whereas present perfect is used for a completed action that happened at non-specific in the time, present perfect continous is an action that started in the past and is continuously happening in the present. This unit has given me a detailed information and examples on how to plan lessons best using various techniques for engaging, studying and activating phases. It helped me understand that the types of methods are dependent on the level of the students, and they should be chosen accordingly. Sometimes it is necessary to combine different methods to enhance the learning of the language. Students should not be corrected at all times, but mainly in the Study phase, otherwise they might get discouraged from trying to learn.
