I enjoyed viewing the patterns of stressed and unstressed syllables in words and sentences. The phonemic chart was much needed review for me. I will continue to use the chart for reference. It will help me understand the process that my students are following to understand how to pronounce and spell words in the english language. This is the toughest unit yet. As a native english speaker we taken for granted all of the hidden lessons we have learnt over the years. I feel it is important to teach pronunciation at a time when the need arises. I would also pay great attention to the students to determine how much time should be spent. I found this unit very difficult. The phonetic script is very difficult for me to understand because most of the symbols I've never seen Before; also, I felt like the unit didn't include them all. I will have to come back to this section and review a few more times in order for this stuff to sink in more.
