This unit explained the various methods of evaluation and testing. Although I believe that full emphasis shouldn't be placed on testing, evaluation is a critical part of teaching that can provide insight on what information the students are retaining/understanding. The example of the placement test helped me understand how I might structure my own tests in the future. This unit helps clarify the different types of examinations that teachers can take and what their purpose is for the course. It is very important to constantly monitor students' progress but also to have some kind of written assessment that scores their progress because most schools will always ask for this sort of exams. This unit about evaluating students skills, abilities and progress was short and sweet! If only all those tests and exams we've had along the way in school had been as easy to digest and complete.
