This unit covers course-books and lesson materials used in a classroom. This unit covers the advantages and disadvantages of each kind of materials used by a teacher. Materials can be divided into two groups: authentic and created materials. Authentic materials are materials the native speaker hears or reads about in every day life, while created materials are designed by the teacher to replace or supplement materials used from the text book. I think the use of materials whether they are authentic or created will depend on the teacher and the level of the students. I think incorporating such materials into an a lesson plan with help in the understanding of the language.
