In unit 13, I learned about pronunciation and phonology of english. I learned that there are three important areas in which students must know to fully understand the pronunciation of English. The first one is intonation which is the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence that carries particular message. The second one is a stress which gives an emphasis on certain syllables in a word or phrases that may help determine what the speaker was trying to say or imply. The last one is an articulation which help us determine how the word is produced and sound by looking at the movement of the tongue, lips, jaw, and other speech organs.
