This unit emphasizes the need and importance of a well structured lesson plan. The sample lesson plan given was very well thought out and an excellent example which I will absolutely refer back to if I ever find myself needing to refocus my own lesson plans. This unit also touched on the subject of ESA methodology and reemphasized some important and effective techniques for teaching. The sample lesson plan is something that I will be referring back to when I create my own lesson plan for the final part of this TEFL course.This unit focused on the various teaching tools that teachers use, and their positive and negative attributes. Chalkboards have become less popular amongst teachers than whiteboards, due to their cleanliness. Interactive whiteboards have become more common, but are expensive, so their availability varies from school to school. One important aspect of using technological tools is making sure the teacher knows how to effectively work the tool, so that no classroom time is wasted by the teacher attempting to learn as they go.
