Teach English in Lochmaben - TESOL Courses
This unit discussed the four aspects of the present tense. Those aspects were the simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. A help to me in the learning process was the video reminder that the structure of the verb endings is of importance (e.g. the -ing ending for continuous aspects and the participle ending for perfect aspects). The lesson was also beneficial in offering activity suggestions (miming, A-B comparative pictures, and the prompt sheet of past experiences) for teaching each aspect of the present tense.Modal auxiliary verbs are used before other verbs to add meaning to the verb. They may be used to express obligation, advice, permission, possibility, ability and also different degrees of formality. Modal verbs do not change form with respect to the noun or pronoun form. There two voices used in the English language are the active and passive voice. In the active voice the doer of an action s the focus of the sentence whereas in the passive voice the doer of the action is less important or even doesn't appear in the sentence.
