I liked being able to go over the different types of tests available. For me, I found this to be important in terms of learning how to best assess students so that they are getting what they need to be successful. For example, starting off a semester with a diagnostic test will most likely help teachers to prepare coursework that is appropriate for their students based on a baseline result. Using progress tests throughout the semester can allow for gauging what has been remembered, retained, acquired, and also forgotten over the course of the year. This can help the teachers and students figure out what should be reviewed and worked on during the coming weeks or months together. Similarly, the use of tutorials can be useful in determining what the students need and how to assess their learning - by reviewing and discussing the lessons, together the teacher and the student can create a game plan and go over different ways to learn the material based on what they have retained, shown interest in, and not quite grasped.
