Materials for studying may be authentic and created. Authentic materials are more interesting and motivating, but not geared to particular language level. You can use existing materials or create your own for the purpose of your class. Although coursebooks are designed specially for EFL students, it's constant use may became predictable and boring, so it should be approached critically and supplemented with other materials and activities, also use it to appropriate extend (omit, replace, supplement or adapt it). While choosing an ideal coursebook for my class, I should consider price, availavility, design, methodology, balance of skills, level, syllabus, additional materials, topic.
