This unit helped me understand the importance of classroom management. As I have discovered, there are many things to keep in mind when managing class. I found the sections of student and teacher talking time, as well as the section of developing rapport with students to be particularly useful. Students need to feel comfortable in a class and they need to feel that they are being given the opportunity to engage in the classroom in a meaningful way.Students will learn best when the teacher is stimulating the class in a way that is both friendly, clear, and coherent. Especially when teaching people who are learning a foreign language, the teacher must speak slowly and simply. It is wrong to assume the students are not smart enough to understand the lesson. Instead, the teacher must honestly observe his own style of teaching, and tweak it so the students can get a better grasp over the teachings.
